Group Spiritual First Aid
Certificate Course

Anyone with a passion for helping others care for unmet mental health needs! No specialized experience is required. Our resources make it possible for anyone to facilitate a group course. It's not required, but we encourage facilitators to complete the on-demand course, which we give FREE to facilitators after their group has purchased a block of courses.

Purchase or have your organization purchase a block of the Group Spiritual First Aid Certificate Courses and get everything you need to recruit, launch, and lead your group. 

Most groups only require a single facilitator. However, a number of our groups have shared having two facilitators is helpful in case something comes up and one of the facilitators isn't able to attend or so they can alternate leading. We've even had a number of groups where each member takes a turn leading a session!

Group Spiritual First Aid facilitators are passionate volunteers committed to helping others provide effective spiritual and emotional care. While they aren’t paid, they receive special perks—including free access to the Spiritual First Aid Certificate Course and exclusive facilitator resources to support their role.

Invite others to start a group, encourage your church or organization to host a group, and purchase a block of group courses to get everything needed to facilitate a successful group course. 

Yes. There are two ways your attendees can enroll with a group: 

1. Each person in your group purchases their own individual course access. 
2. Your group or organization can purchase a block of courses for everyone participating. If your group purchases a block of courses, we will send access codes to the person making the purchase on your group's behalf, and then they will send a code to each person.

Enrolling is the only way to get access to the full course, including the Field Guide, Workbook, Video Access, Bonus Sessions, Evidence Supporting Spiritual First Aid, and the certification test. Group members will have access for one-year from the time they enroll. 

The on-demand, group, and workshop course versions all teach the BLESS CPR framework, content, and skills. 

The primary difference is the unique way in which each is delivered. Regardless, if you complete the course entirely online, as part of a facilitator-led group, or in a workshop, everyone can access the entire on-demand course and materials. The group course also requires more time since you are working through exercises and activities with others over consecutive weeks. 

However, please note that though the child and adolescent-specific course also teaches the BLESS framework, it is a mini course, and therefore meant to serve as introductory training and doesn't lead to a certificate. One of the added benefits of the mini course is it can be completed in just one to two hours.  

Facilitator-led groups meet once a week for six weeks, with each session lasting ninety minutes to two hours for around nine to twelve hours total. Please note that adding optional bonus sessions will require an additional one and a half to two hours each.

Most groups consists of around ten people. But we've had groups as small as two people and as large as fifty.

Most weeks, you'll be asked to complete a brief personal study task to help reinforce what you are learning. Those tasks tend to take about fifteen to thirty minutes each.
