The L’Chaim Center was created in the fall of 2009. L’Chaim means “To Life!” The Center is a progressive, independent Jewish, “haimish” havurah (warm and intimate congregation) providing worship services including Shabbat and holidays, and educational opportunities to all unaffiliated Jews and non-Jews alike who wish to experience the joys of Jewish living and learning in a warm and embracing setting.
“Sing to God a New Song for God Has Worked Wonders” –Psalm 98
We are a spiritual home.
We come together in joy and song.
We come from diverse backgrounds of religious observance and knowledge.
We are open and inclusive to traditional and non-traditional individuals and families.
We strive to be responsive to the changing dynamics of our community and Judaism today.
We respect tradition but encourage innovation and creativity.
Our dress is casual.
No dues structure. Our support relies on donations.
Our Rabbis are our spiritual leaders, our facilitators and our resources for learning, who work in partnership with us.
Video and text from November's ecumenical Shabbat Healing Service coming soon! The event was "very emotional for those of us suffering from emotional and physical crises," says Rabbi Marcy Greene. Download brochure (PDF) of the event flyer.
